Everactive Wins Innovation Award for Batteryless Sensor Solutions In Food & Beverage Industry

IIoT Pioneer Everactive is Recognized for Top Technological Innovations in Processing for all Industry Segments in Food and Beverage.

CHICAGO, IL, November 8th, 2021 — Organizers of Process Expo announced that Everactive, the category-defining batteryless Internet of Things (IoT) company, is a 2021 Innovation Showcase winner. The company received the award for its real-time batteryless monitoring solution in the Confectionary, Candy, & Sweets category for its work with candy giant The Hershey Company. The Innovation Showcase Award features 7 companies whose technological innovations have moved the Food and Beverage industry forward toward sustainability while increasing profits.

Everactive’s always-on, batteryless steam trap monitoring has helped Hershey’s plant achieve sustainable digital transformation. In the past, Hershey’s hired an outside agency to audit the plant’s steam system. This provided some information, but sporadic manual inspections still left the maintenance team with an incomplete picture of the status of the steam system. To address the inconsistencies, Hershey’s installed Everactive’s Steam Trap Monitor (STM) sensors to autonomously monitor and detect anomalies.

After several months with the STM system in place, Hershey’s estimates the plant has already seen thousands of dollars in steam system savings, and they are now piloting Everactive’s solution for Machine Health Monitoring (MHM).

Rafael Reyes, Director of Product Marketing at Everactive, said the company is excited about winning the Innovation Award, particularly as it continues to expand applications in Industrial IoT. ”Our batteryless and wireless technology applications are a force multiplier to operations and maintenance personnel in the Food and Beverage industry. With STM providing maintenance-free real-time insights about the status of steam traps across an entire system, food and beverage operations and maintenance personnel can address failures as they occur and bank significant energy and CO2 savings,” says Reyes who accepted the award on behalf of Everactive. Likewise, with Machine Health Monitoring (MHM) real-time, maintenance-free insights of the health of rotating equipment, such as motors, pumps, fans, and compressors, food and beverage operations and maintenance personnel can predict machine faults earlier and at a scale of deployment only possible with Everactive’s self powered sensors.

Everactive’s proprietary ultra-low-power technology is the foundation for completely batteryless and wireless IoT solutions. Requiring up to 1,000x less power than competing offerings, Everactive’s real-time asset monitoring solutions operate entirely—and continuously—from low levels of “harvested energy.” Wireless IoT sensors that never require battery maintenance can be deployed at a scale not possible with batteries in order to generate massive new data sets that unlock high-value operational insights for enterprises.

Join Everactive At Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia 2021

Learn more about the benefits of wireless and batteryless sensing during the conference presentation and then visit our booth for a live demo!

The Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia (TPS) is a vital industry event, offering a forum for the exchange of ideas between rotating equipment engineers and technicians worldwide. Now surpassing 48 years, TPS is known for its impact on turbomachinery, pump, oil & gas, petrochemical, power, aerospace, chemical and water industries.

This year Keal Harter, Director of Product Management at Everactive will be showcased at the “Innovation Presents” event. Keal’s presentation “How Batteryless Sensors Unlock The True Potential of Wireless Vibration Monitoring” will discuss the limitations of battery-powered vibration sensors, the groundbreaking industry advances that have enabled completely self-powered sensors, and the benefits in vibration monitoring unlocked by this innovation.

We would like you to visit us at TPS in Houston, TX from December 13th to the 16th and join Keal’s presentation to learn more about our wireless and batteryless technology. Then stop by our booth # 1136 , where we will have a live demo of our Machine Health Monitor (MHM) and Steam Trap Monitor (STM) solution. Keal will be there to answer any of your questions.

See you in Houston!

Everactive Finalist Of World Petroleum Congress Innovation Zone Award

Selected among 32 companies to present their innovative technologies to compete for the Energy Innovator Award.

The World Petroleum Congress is dedicated to the promotion of sustainable management and use of the world’s petroleum resources for the benefit of all.

The Innovation Zone by ConocoPhillips recognizes forward thinking innovators, startups, and companies that contribute to the future of energy by combating the current challenges of the industry through its cutting-edge practices and bring awareness to progressive energy solutions available on the market today.

Through an application process, a dynamic selection committee from the 23rd WPC and ConocoPhillips evaluated and choose 32 companies to participate and pitch their innovative energy tools, technologies, and practices on the Innovation Zone stage during the week of the Congress. One company will then be selected by audience voting to receive the Energy Innovator Award at the conclusion of the 23rd WPC.

Everactive was selected among the 32 companies based on it’s always-on wireless sensors technology that run entirely off tiny amounts of harvested energy and its end-to-end Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions that help monitor rotating equipment like pumps, motors, fans, etc., and monitor steam traps continuously to improve oil and gas operations.

Everactive One Of Top 3 Startups Participating in ABB’s Measurement & Analytics Open Innovation Challenge

Everactive wireless and batteryless technology competed with over 1,150 other predictive maintenance solutions and came out on top.

ABB Measurement & Analytics developed the Open Innovation Challenge to help generate ideas and evaluate new business opportunities for Predictive Maintenance with an emphasis on health, safety and the environment. Held at ABB Measurement & Analytics’ new customer experience center (CXC) in Ossuccio, Italy, the challenge was designed to demonstrate leadership in the future development of predictive maintenance with the use of the sensors which are the heart of the instruments developed in the division.

ABB worked together with Tree, a company which specializes in offering open innovation solutions, to source technology start-ups from around the world and structure the first ABB Measurement & Analytics Open Innovation Challenge. 1,150 start-up companies were scouted and engaged and the best 6 were invited to join a 2-day bootcamp in Italy to collaborate with ABB experts.

Everactive is currently one of the three shortlisted startups were selected after the bootcamp to further developed their solutions since the event.
