Doing More With Less!

April is Earth Day Month!  At Everactive, we are maximizing the environmental impact of IoT solutions by taking the battery out of the equation.  With power requirements 1,000x less than that of competing chipsets, we can both avoid the hazards of batteries disposal and sustain our devices indefinitely using readily available harvested energy.

This means an explosion of new, high-value data streams using a tiny fraction of the energy.  By relying only on “evergreen” sustainable energy sources, Everactive’s platform lets industrial users reap the benefits of large-scale connected technology while minimizing their environmental footprint.

Happy Earth Day!

Case Study – Anheuser-Busch

Anheuser-Busch Deploys Everactive Technology in 12 Flagship US Breweries In Support of Net-Zero Ambition

After installing Everactive’s Steam Trap Monitor solution on only 25% of the traps in all of its breweries, Anheuser-Busch saw results almost immediately. “In less than 6 months, we identified significant potential annual energy savings equivalent to 1.2% reduction in fuel usage,” said Barkley.

Further analysis by the team at Anheuser-Busch also shows impressive results from a decarbonization standpoint. Everactive helped Anheuser-Busch reduce its CO2 emissions by an estimated 7,561 tons of CO2 per year, which is equivalent to taking and estimated 1,644 passenger vehicles off the road for a full year.

Evolution of Vibration Analysis

Q&A with Chad Dyson – Category III Vibration Analyst

This month, we sat down with Chad Dyson to have a discussion about how vibration monitoring has progressed over the years and where it is heading. Chad is a Category III Vibration Analyst with over 18 years of vibration analysis experience and is currently an Application Specialist at Everactive. Chad is also a certified level 2 Tribilogist and level 1 ultrasonic analyst.

In this Q&A, Chad offers insight into important topics you likely have if you are considering starting a vibration program or taking your existing vibration program to the next level:

  • Deciding which equipment to wirelessly monitor
  • Deciding to outsource or “insource” your vibration monitoring program
  • Opportunities to combine a wireless vibration system with an outsourced vibration analyst support
  • Wireless vibration monitoring as a workforce multiplier
  • Self-powered wireless vibration monitoring and vibration analyst talent retention

Don’t miss this excellent Q&A discussion

Why You Need to Pay Attention To Steam Traps

A Q&A with Todd Klanderud, Master Steamfitter

We connected this month with Todd Klanderud to bring into the spotlight an often forgotten but critical part in a steam system – steam traps. Todd has over 20 years of experience as a master steamfitter, including 16 years as Journeyman, as well as a steamfitter instructor. Todd is currently Everactive’s Director for Predictive Maintenance & Training.

Todd shares his knowledge on critical questions for steam operators interested in operating their system at peak efficiency to eliminate wasted energy and reduce CO2 emissions including:

  • What are the different ways in which steam traps are managed today?
  • How do you decide which steam traps to monitor?
  • What are the advantages of self-powered continuous monitoring systems over the ones that are battery powered?
  • What are other benefits that come along when a good steam trap management program is in place?
  • Why are continuous batteryless steam trap sensors a game changer?
