Everactive’s Innovative Technology Implemented in Anheuser-Busch Facilities to Support Brewer’s Sustainability Goals

IIoT Pioneer’s Wireless Monitoring Sensors Saves Money and Improves Efficiency for Anheuser-Busch

JULY 2022 — America’s leading brewer, Anheuser-Busch is transforming their breweries with Everactive, the category-defining batteryless Internet of Things (IoT) company. Everactive’s continuous, battery-free steam trap monitoring application has helped Anheuser-Busch’s production facilities tangibly achieve sustainable digital transformation.

In the past, Anheuser-Busch manually audited its plant steam systems. This provided some information, but without continuous monitoring, the process still left maintenance and facilities teams with an incomplete perspective of the steam system. To address this, Anheuser-Busch installed Everactive’s Steam Trap Monitoring (STM) sensors to autonomously monitor and detect anomalies and improve the efficiency of its brewing operations.

In less than 6 months with Everactive’s STM system in place, Anheuser-Busch’s flagship breweries  have identified thousands of dollars in potential steam system energy savings equivalent to 1.2% reduction in fuel usage, and the potential removal of 7,561 tons of CO2 from our atmosphere per year.

“Everactive is proud to support industry leading customers such as Anheuser-Busch in their drive to achieve operational efficiency and sustainability goals,” said Bob Nunn, CEO of Everactive.  “The ability to aid Anheuser-Busch’s digital transformation in a sustainable way, leveraging micro-renewable energy sources instead of installing thousands of batteries, is what differentiated Everactive’s solutions from other leading alternatives.”

Everactive’s ultra-low-power technology platform is the foundation of this innovative wireless IoT application. Requiring up to 1,000x less power than competing offerings, Everactive’s real-time asset monitoring solutions operate entirely—and continuously—from low levels of “harvested energy.” Wireless IoT sensors that never require battery maintenance can be deployed at a scale not possible with batteries in order to generate massive new data sets that unlock high-value operational insights for enterprises.

Rafael Reyes, Director of Product Marketing at Everactive, said the company is invigorated by its growing customer relationships in the food & beverage industry, particularly as it continues to expand applications in Industrial IoT. “Our batteryless and wireless technology applications are a force multiplier to operations and maintenance personnel in the Food and Beverage industry. With STM providing maintenance-free real-time insights about the status of steam traps across an entire system, Anheuser-Busch operations and maintenance personnel can address failures as they occur and bank significant energy and CO2 savings,” says Reyes.

In collaboration with its partners, Everactive delivers the most scalable and cost-effective digital transformation solutions. The company’s proprietary low-power energy harvesting and wireless technology enables completely batteryless and always-on Internet of Things systems. Specifically designed for harsh industrial settings, Everactive devices provide continuous insight into asset health across a range of equipment and throughout entire plants and facilities. The company has offices in Silicon Valley, Ann Arbor, and Charlottesville. For more information, please visit: www.everactive.com.
